New Big Wong: Authentic Cantonese and Szechuan Delights in D.C.

Did not eat here, but the only restaurant open in DC to let us use the restroom. We offered to pay a worker and he refused- just let us go in for free. Went to 2 other places in DC that refused. Good job New Big Wong.

This was the only place that opened late at night, so we appreciated that! The service was fast and we really enjoyed our food. Thank you to the hardworking waiters for running the whole show despite being super busy!

The old saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" applies here big time. From the outside as you walk down a few steps you may wonder if you made a bad choice. Don't worry you didn't, this place is so good. The service was excellent. The food was great. I started with the wonton soup, it had two large wontons and the broth had good flavor. I got chicken lo mein for my main course. A very large portion, with lots of chicken and veggies. Cooked and seasoned just right. There are a lot of options in DC 's chinatown for authentic food, be sure to put New Big Wong on that list.

We took a chance since it was late, 9pm but they don't close til late so we decided to give it a try. I don't know why this place only has 3 stars but the food was bomb diggity!!! Anytime I'm craving greens or veggies, I know I can count on an authentic Chinese restaurant to deliver and New Big Wong definitely did! We ordered the following dishes: Chicken Corn Soup Combo Fried Rice Chicken and Green Beans Garlic Chives The dishes tasted exactly as I had expected. Quality - check Freshness of veggies - check Flavor - check Quantity - check (we leftovers) We were the only patrons in the restaurant and we got all the attention from the staff so issues with the service. It seems that take out or delivery was the main bread and butter for this business. I would definitely come back to this place.

Surprisingly authentic Chinese food at such an unassuming restaurant! We ordered the fried pepper pork, beef with Chinese broccoli, half roasted duck, and salt fish and chicken fried rice. All are really delicious! The place feels super deserted, but we see a ton of takeouts while we were here. Taking a star off for the price range. I do think the food is a bit overpriced. The half duck was $30! Was surprised to see the bill. Otherwise, food is solid, would recommend stopping by if you're craving for Chinese food.
